Bookshelf & Bookcase Types

If you thought bookshelves only consisted of the tried and true standard bookcases you’ve seen time and time again (i.e. evenly spaced with a closed back frame), prepare to be amazed. Bookcases come in all manner of creative and functional forms:

Ladder & Leaning Bookcases:

Rather than standing straight up, ladders and leaning bookshelves are designed to literally lean against the wall or the case’s vertical backing. Ladder bookcases sometimes feature shelves that narrow in size from the ground up and can include a supplementary cabinet or drawers.

Corner Bookcases:

The name practically says it all, corner bookshelves are built at a right angle and are generally small bookcases that you can slot right into just about any room in your home. If you live in an already crowded apartment or have extremely limited space and need a narrow bookcase, you’ll want to start off your search with corner units.
